A lot of people have experienced one or more of these types of Abuse in their life.

Abuse impacts us in many ways – feeling powerless, worthless, undeserving, something is wrong with me, I don’t matter, trust issues, relationship issues, feeling invalidated, shame, lack of confidence, feeling alone, unsupported, anxiety, depression, experiencing health issues/conditions to name a few.

We have a wonderful medical system that includes Doctors, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Counsellors, and other Practitioners that are there to help Abuse Sufferers.  While talking about the Abuse and/or taking medication to assist the person to carry on with life is great, sometimes the painful emotions and impact of the abuse stays within the person.

Sometimes the pain is so painful people can have a repressed memory which may surface at a later time in their life.  Suppressed feelings can also be part of the equation when the feelings are too painful to deal with, so they are pushed back down.

The subconscious brain records all our experiences and feelings.  It is responsible for the automatic functioning of our body as well as our actions and reactions to things.

Our conscious mind is only conscious of what it knows.  Our subconscious is below the awareness of the conscious mind.  Often the painful emotions will continue to affect people until they are cleared out.  You may want to move on however you can find that the feelings and thoughts associated with the abuse keep coming up and can be triggered by different circumstances.  Or you know just do not feel happy like you should.  Suppressed feelings won’t go away… in fact they can be toxic to the body.

Emotional Stress Release Technique is a simple but easy tip if you are feeling emotional or overwhelmed.  Place your fingers or palm over the front of your forehead and hold.  Continue to hold until you feel more relaxed.  Take some deep breaths as well.  This technique is known as Emotional Stress Release.
